Field Evaluation: Modular, ENERGY STAR® Qualified Homes
with Customized Features

Legacy Homes, a long-time retailer of Champion's modular products manufactured under the Genesis brand, will open "Lake Country" in the summer of 2003. The subdivision of approximately 120 lots is ideally situated near a recreational lake in the City of Mannford, Oklahoma, and is in commuting distance to Tulsa, a major employment center. Legacy will offer several modular designs from both Genesis and Fuqua Homes. The homes, ENERGY STAR® qualified with customized features, will range in price from $90,000 - $110,000.

The project follows concepts promoted in "A Builder’s Guide to Marketable, Affordable, Durable, Entry-Level Homes (MADE) to Last", a 1999 publication by the NAHB Research Center for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). NAHB Research Center and Steven Winter Associates staff, representing PATH, will work with the builders to streamline the integration of the factory products with the site-built features.
