Whirlpool Corporation Honored as
PATH Manufacturer Partner of the Year
Orlando, Fla.-U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) knows that the buzz about green building would be impossible without the efforts of pioneering manufacturers.
Therefore, PATH is proud to recognize
Whirlpool Corporation with PATH's Manufacturer of the Year Award, presented at a ceremony at the 2008 International Builders' Show.
Whirlpool Corporation is recognized for a series of endeavors, including:
- Joining PATH as a sponsor of the National Homebuilder Mainstream GreenHome in Raleigh, North Carolina;
- Sponsoring the PATH Partner Project
the Mold Safe Model Home
in Chesterfield, New Hampshire;
- Providing energy- and water-saving appliances to the PATH Partner Project
EarthCraft/TecHome Showcase House
at the 2007 Southern Building Show in Atlanta.
In addition to its efforts on behalf of these demonstration homes, Whirlpool Corporation manufacturers energy- and water-efficient front- and top-loading washers and dryers and other appliances featured on the PATH Technology Inventory.
Furthermore, Andy Sinclair, ENERGY STAR® Manager for Whirlpool Corporation, has devoted his time and energy as a member of the PATH Industry Committee, a panel of industry pioneers and experts who provide a stakeholder perspective to PATH activities.
"Working with PATH helps us further demonstrate how sustainable building practices can be implemented in ways that appeal to a wide variety of homebuyers," said Sinclair. "It's a honor to be recognized by a green leader such as PATH."
Whirlpool Corporation joins past winners of the PATH Manufacturer Partner of the Year Award: Georgia-Pacific, DuPont, Microtherm/Seisco, Premier Building Systems, and the Sherwin Williams Company.
