PATH Director Retires

After over 30 years of service at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, PATH Director Dave Engel has retired. As head of the Office of Policy Development and Research's Division on Affordable Housing Research and Technology, Engel has guided PATH since its inception. He was instrumental in the program's initiation and has directed it throughout its rise to prominence as a significant force of change within the residential building industry. He was honored by the National Association of Home Builders in 2004 when they selected him to join the Remodelor's Hall of Fame.

Paul Gatons, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Research, Evaluation and Monitoring at HUD, will serve as Engel's interim replacement.
