The rating reflects the experience of the profiled builder. Your mileage may vary, depending upon your experience level as compared with our builder.
Everything, as they say, is relative. This measures our builder's speed with the technology as compared to his typical construction cycle.
The score may tell you something about the builder's motivation for using the technology. One scored as highly cost effective speaks for itself. A technology with no net impact on cost effectiveness is likely attractive to our builder on some basis other than cost. Enhanced quality is the likely alternative.
Return on Investment
If the builder comes out even--or ahead--on the first job, the return is immediate. If he had to invest in retraining his crew, or buying new equipment, he's likely to report having to wait awhile for the payoff.
What kind of impact has the technology in question had on the builder's standing among his competitors? Some will vault you ahead of the pack; others may deliver their value in other ways.
Is this the kind of thing a homeowner will get excited about? Maybe even become an advocate, jumping in to help on any approval snags you run into? Will they brag about it to their neighbors? Or do they nod vacantly?
