Industry Committee Meets, Reviews PATH's Goals
Washington, D.C., -- The Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing's (PATH) Industry Committee met October 28, in Annapolis, Maryland, to discuss the goals of PATH and the role of the committee. The Industry Committee was created to provide a stakeholder perspective to PATH activities. It includes industry pioneers and experts who have made their mark in the home building industry.

The committee has commented on PATH's outreach efforts to industry groups and helped develop practical and strategic ideas for PATH's private-sector work, especially PATH Technology Roadmaps. The Committee also fosters networks between industrial associations and firms that bring resources to PATH and encourage the awareness of housing innovation. As the industry coordinator for PATH, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Research Center convenes the committee.
Staff from HUD's PATH office presented an overview of current program activities and answered questions from new members. The committee then met without HUD staff and addressed the key question: Are the goals of PATH appropriate? The committee also considered its ongoing role in relation to PATH, whether a formal plan or charter should be developed to guide committee activities, the ideal size/composition of the group and additional industry concerns.
