PATH PARTNERS IN ACTION Low-Impact Development in Florida: Results from the Field On April 15, PATH celebrated the opening of its demonstration home in the Madera community of Gainesville, Florida. The Florida Energy Extension Service (FEES), the University of Florida, and the National Association of Home Builders' Research Center attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the home, which is a model of low-impact development. Designed by FEES, the model will be replicated throughout the 88-home Madera subdivision. The home also showcases green building technologies and products, including an inside-the-envelope HVAC system, insulated concrete form walls, soft-coat low-E windows, and downsized compact HVAC distribution.
