Mark Your Calendar for the 2002 Green Building Conference and Visit PATH.
As a sponsor and attendee, the Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) is proud to announce the 2002 National Green Building Conference (NGBC). The 2002 Green Building Conference will be held on March 24-26 at the Seattle Westin Hotel. This year's conference is said to be "the most important environmental home building conference of the year!" The focus of this year's conference will be on innovative building technologies and the trends in green building.
In its fourth year, the NGBC is the only national conference to focus on the design, development, marketing, building and financing of environmentally sensible homes. This year's event will educate state and local home building association staff, builders, developers, architects, engineers, planners, manufacturers, green building consultants and public sector officials through 17 educational sessions; 'green building in the real world'-style tours of developments on Bainbridge Island, Wash., and downtown Seattle (on Sunday, March 24); and presentations on green building products and services by more than 60 exhibitors. Among the topics slated for discussion are: the value of green building in increasing home value and reducing energy costs; the latest field results on cutting-edge building products and technologies; environmentally sensitive development; mold prevention and moisture management; a comparison of the major sustainable harvested wood programs; tree preservation; building envelope tightness in residential construction; the next big wave in green building and energy efficient products; smart growth success stories; indoor air quality; how home building associations can start green building programs; financing green building; efforts to create a "Zero Energy Home"; how builders and re-modelers can reduce waste on the job site; and wastewater treatment.
At the NGBC, attendees will not only learn what it means to be green, but also find out the latest information on energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and sustainable design. In addition, attendees will learn the latest about marketing green and making it affordable and profitable, tour a green building or a green development, network with builders, manufacturers, architects, planners, and government officials and experience trend-setting manufacturers and their innovative products.
Keynote speaker will be Ray Anderson, founder and chairman of Interface, a leader in sustainable business. There will also be various speakers from the building and finance industry and the research community.
