PATH Technology Scanning

Copyright Takenaka Corporation]Technology scanning is one of PATH's major research support services. Technology scanning identifies technology developments in other industries, from other nations, from federal laboratories, and from other building sectors. PATH looks for breakthroughs in other industries that could be transferred and applied to housing. PATH works to unite technology developers from outside of residential construction with manufacturers in the residential housing sector.

Published Scanning Reports are fact sheets produced by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development/PATH. They are updated as technology developments dictate.

Emerging Scanning Results introduce technologies that often in their earliest stages of development or are being used in another industry. These items would need significant modification to be useful for home building.

PATH welcomes your comments on the published and emerging technology scans.
