PATH wants homebuilders to have all the information they need to apply new technologies and practices to their work - from installation instructions to building code restrictions, and from cost benefit studies to construction alternatives.
Coordinated by the
NAHB Research Center, ToolBase is the housing industry's resource for technical information on building products, materials, new technologies, business management, and housing systems. ToolBase offers many services:
- Access the
ToolBase Web site through an interactive portal. Search for a specific technology, or browse through the listings by housing performance attribute or by housing systems.
- Sign up for
ToolBase/PATH E-news and receive a biweekly electronic news service that focuses on residential construction industry news, particularly news dealing with information technology and homebuilding. Current issues are accessible on
ToolBase's Web site.
- Read
ToolBase's TechNotes for immediate and to-the-point information on current technology issues and products.
ToolBase services are made possible with financial support from government and industry sponsors, including PATH and HUD. Other sponsors include the CertainTeed Corporation, the National Association of Homebuilders, the North American Steel Framing Alliance, and the Wood Truss Council of America.
