Concept Home Principles Extolled in Prefab Forum
The virtues of the Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing's (PATH) Concept Home were explored at Dwell Magazine's Proactive Prefab Forum on Feb. 25 in Emeryville, California. More than a hundred participants representing architecture and design, construction, development, finance, education, and product manufacturing attended the one-day event, which also drew Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown.

To reflect the direction of the Concept Home, PATH presented forum attendees with findings from market research and explored the implications of changing demographics on home design. It was a natural fit for many of the designers and builders, and approximately 10 guests said they already utilize the Concept Home's principles in their work.
In 2005, the project will build on the first year's work by developing full plans and specifications for homes with Concept Home technologies. PATH will work closely with those forward-looking manufacturers willing to produce these systems, and the designers who can envision the needs of America's changing households.
