Housing Markets

Two organizations charged with the management of PATH are also major resources for research publications on housing markets. HUD's Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R;) coordinates all federally-related PATH activities. Staff in PD&R's Affordable Housing Research and Technology Division have expertise in various construction systems, housing issues, and technology policies; they oversee PATH's many research, dissemination, and policy activities. The NAHB Research Center is a major conduit for feedback from the private sector about PATH's activities. The Research Center has leveraged PATH resources with industrial funds to perform collaborative research projects, develop major dissemination tools, and increase general awareness of housing technology among members of the housing industry. Research Center staff include scientists, engineers, economists, architects, and planners.
