This project represents the first stage of an effort to map and understand and utilize at the national level both national and international research in Housing Technology. The purpose of the total initiative is to determine how this research can be facilitated and organized to best serve the clear national interest in improving housing stock and delivering on the PATH goals. The total initiative includes three parts: 1. Identify technologies that may be of substantial use for the US affordable housing market and/or federal technology initiatives like the Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH); 2. Critically assess foreign housing technology research agendas and strategies to gauge their applicability to HUD initiatives; and 3. Create institutional links between major national and international housing technology researchers that may result in further collaboration and discussion. This project represents part one of the initiative.
