December 29, 2003 PATH Demonstrates "THE EVOLUTION OF AMERICAN HOME"
at NextGen Demonstration Home, IBS 2004 Exhibit
The Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) has coined the theme "The Evolution of the American Home" for the 2004 NextGen Demonstration Home at the International Builders' Show in Las Vegas. NextGen invites visitors to consider how advanced technologies and environmental concerns are changing homebuyers' expectations. These changing expectations pose challenges for the way builders plan, build, and sell houses. NextGen offers answers to those challenges. This 2, 300 square foot home demonstrates what can be achieved when a whole-house approach to building is coupled with high standards for building quality and comfort, and a commitment to affordability. The home will be for many a first introduction to modular building, or "stick building in a factory." NextGen also demonstrates good water conservation and other aspects of environmental performance including protecting indoor air quality and using recycled materials. Through NextGen, PATH will provide builders with a compelling real world example of how advanced technologies can improve both quality and marketability in home building. Just follow the blue house icon inside the home to find more than two-dozen PATH profiled innovative technologies. Technologies profiled by PATH are selected for their strengths in one or more of the following areas: quality, durability, energy efficiency, environmental performance, safety, disaster mitigation, and affordability.
