January 2001, 23 pages The PATH Barriers/Insurance Working Group is charged with exploring regulatory and institutional reforms which can accelerate the adoption of innovative technologies that can make housing safer, more affordable, and environmentally benign. In this regard, the Working Group has asked whether the decision to construct a home that uses technology to mitigate damage from insured events can result in discounted insurance premiums for homeowners.
