As we hunker down for war, we need to
hunker up for optimized housing. We
envision the completed house shell in a
Truss framed Construction format. In
your mind, break down your house shell
into hunks that can be made in an
outomated factory, and then shipped to
your site in the biggest possible hunks
that can travel on the roads. You will
find that the final assembly at the
site needs only a crane, truss plates,
a portable power pack c-clamp to drive
the plates home, and mostly full sheets
of sheathing. Insulation drywall, and
interior walls will be easier in this
type of house shell.
Over 5,000 TFC homes similar to this
were built about 20 years ago. They are
not "matchbox" houses (world War II
housing). They can be built superior to
existing code requirements, yet hunk up
to stronger homes for less cost.
