Asbestos damage to the body is
generally in the form of tiny barbs of
irritants in the lungs. Within 15 to 30
years of constant irritation, it
becomes cancerous. The most worrysome
part of what you describe is the
moisture feeding fungus in your walls.
It has been known to kill people in a
relatively short time. The reason you
aren't dead now is that the worst
fungii are not yet present in your
walls. Perhaps the mild forms that you
now have prevented worse ones from
developing. There are enough people
that read this forum to direct you to
the propper agencies for assistance.
Minimum housing standards for HUD
housing do not allow anything close to
what you describe. I wish you well in
finding the skilled fixers for the
moisture and the exposure problems.
