The Truss Framed Construction
demonstration program building some
5,000 homes about 20 years ago listed
14 money, energy, and time saving
benefits. One big problem was that the
quality of the whole house truss was
compromised by the wrenching during
lifting such a big truss into position.
This problem has been solved by using 6
portions of trusses made into floor,
wall, and roof panels getting field
joint assembled with truss plates at
the construction site. The list of 14
money, energy, and time saving benefits
has grown to 68, yet no demonstration
program for even a single home is
available.
I am a retired aerospace materials
engineer with 22 patents to my credit,
yet improved housing is set aside in
favor of doing it the way it has always
been done. No builder wants to pay the
meager cost of a learning curve in
exchange for the 68 listed benefits.
The combination of 20% construction
savings along with 4% to 60% energy
savings is not incite full?
