You mentioned controlled ventilation.
Most of today's controlled ventilation
systems fight the direction of
natural convection air movement. This
unfortunate choice takes about 2% more
blower energy than a system designed to
complement the natural movements.
Instead of putting outlets under
windows, return air ducts should be
located there. The removal of the
coolest air draws warm air from other
parts of the rooms for temperature
uniformity. The coolest air hitting the
heat exchanger gives a higher delta-t-
for efficiency improvements.
