SUBJECT: Steel Studs

In the budgeting phase for a new home.
Had planned to use steel studs. First
problem was finding a contractor that
would work residential. Have decided
to use wood. My plan is to build an
energy effecient home with the latest
in building techniques and features.
For example, this will be a ICF frame,
with steel trusses, and a concrete
Spanish tile roof. We will use
tankless hot water heaters and wire for
a smart home. Front loading washing
machine and other energy efficient
appliances will be used. Would like to
learn more about types of wood studs.
We are in North Florida. The concern
is termites. Actually, this house will
have very little wood and most will be
PT. All comments and suggestions
appreciated. Thanks.
