ENERGY EFFICIENT HOUSING PROJECT MANAGER The National
Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT), a
private non-profit corporation with offices in Butte,
Montana, and Fayetteville, Arkansas, works to promote
sustainable
technologies and systems, especially for the benefit
of economically disadvantaged individuals and
communities. NCAT is
currently seeking a manager for ongoing projects that
incorporate energy efficient and renewable energy
technologies into
private and public housing. The position requires
experience in public housing; resource efficient
building technologies; project
planning, development and implementation; team
building and personnel supervision. A degree in
mechanical engineering,
architecture, building science, business management or
a related field/equivalent experience is required. The
successful
candidate will have excellent oral and written
communication skills, a high level of computer literacy
and experience in making
public presentations. Responsibilities include:
overall project management and staff supervision;
representing the project to
various sponsors, cooperating agencies and the general
public; fund-raising, marketing and proposal
development to continue
and expand the program; overseeing the development of
an internet site and clearinghouse; providing technical
assistance to
managers of multifamily housing facilities and writing
articles regarding energy efficiency for publication.
The position requires
some travel. Salary: $35,000 - $45,000 depending on
the qualifications of the individual selected for the
position. NCAT
offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package that
includes a 401(k) plan, health insurance and cafeteria
plan. The position is
located in Butte, Montana. If relocation is necessary,
NCAT will cover reasonable relocation costs.
