SUBJECT: RE: ICF and SIPs

Insert new message here...I have also been looking
into ICFs for a house. I have found 2 types that I may
use. Both incorperate cement in there mixes that makes
them impervious to insects. One is called Rastra a
cement and polystyrene mix. The other is manufactured
under two names Faswal which just opened a plant in
North or south Carolina and Durisol out of Canada. They
use wood chips and cement to make an ICF.Both types
are talked about at the Enviromental Building News web
page. They dont have the r value of an SIP but they
would let you use your original design. Rastra claims
a quite high r value but I am suspicious of it.Hope
this helps good luck John
