SUBJECT: ICF and SIPs

I am building in Southern Mississippi. I had intended
on a walkout basement using ICfs until I read all the
termite info and the fact that Southern Building Code
has nixes foam below grade.

I still may use either ICF or SIPs on a slab. I just
have to relocate the house away from the slope that
would have made the walkout basement.

If any of you SIPs folks have experience with steel and
aluminum faced SIPs I'd like to hear about it. I am
not using OSB faced SIPS for exterior walls. Ther is a
SIPs house being built with OSB faced walls that I
drive by every day. I have seen it going up and looked
at it closely. I see no advantage. They have put 1 X
4 nailers on the outside for some type of yet
uninstalled siding. Why? I don't know.

I have heard of steel faced panels that can be left as
is for roof panels or walls. Is this a for real thing?
