Good question. Laminated girders could be
expensive,2x6s are not. Your local building supply
could probably estimate the material cost
difference,labor must also be considered, maybe you
need a crane for the girder?, your Architect or
Engineer should verify that it is sufficient, the
whole thing has alot of variables including openness
of space.
