Dear Bill,

I am the General Manager for Precision Panel Structures, Inc. In response to your question / concern about SIPs for roof systems.

advantages:
1. Fast, Easy installation on fairly straightforward roof.
2. Energy efficient
3. Dramatic vaults
4. no venting required (less roof penetrations, fewer areas for potential leaks, cleaner roof line)

We have completed a number of roof panel installations in 1 day (depends on size / complexity)

potential drawbacks
1. Higher cost than traditional roof system
2. Can't install recessed lighting into the roof system (these lights need to vent their heat.....)

Please visit our web page at:
www.precisionpanel.com

contact me if you have any more questions. If you have a set of plans, I can easily give you some feedback and prices for your project
