SUBJECT: RE: Relocatable Walls

A system inviting remodeling would be one where a new
house is built with structural sheathing directly under
the drywall. The house shell (including ceiling)
drywall is also installed before any interior wall is
started. The outer stud of an interior wall is a steel
one screwed through the drywall into the sheathing. No
studfinder is required. There are also benefits in
using steel for top & bottom plates. The balance of
studs in the wall is builders option. Keep in mind that
roof and floor trusses work better when interior walls
are not wedged in tight. Access to remove & re-install
wiring is part of the decision whether to move the wall
